Being nervous can cripple and paralyze us from doing the things we really want to do. I know. I’ve been there over and over again, whether it being having to speak in public, sing a solo, or even launching into this blog.
I have learned that preparation to do the task, feeling confident in what I’ve prepared, and prayer to God helps me to do it regardless of the nerves.
Will nerves still grip me? Yes, sometimes, but I have to shake it off and keep moving. If I don’t I will remain stuck, and won’t achieve all that God may have for me.
So, shake it off! Or like Oprah says – “Do it afraid!”
Shoot. Now I have Taylor Swift stuck in my head. Thanks! 😉

You are so right. There is nothing like preparation to help with nerves. Yet, when I teach or speak, I am so nervous for the first few minutes, adn you can hear it, but once the Holy Spirit takes charge, it’s like someone else is speaking. My pastor says that when I preach, he knows the moment will come when the nerves are gone and then I soar. I thank God that He gives us success. I end up saying, Great job, Holy Spirit. That was you. Wonderful blog. Looking forward to reading more.

I am one who thinks as we get older we need to believe in ourselves before others will. Definitely, prayer and confidence in God’s presence and gifts He gave us come in to play. Fun way to close this post, Taylor Swift and Oprah! 🙂

Getting over social anxiety is one of the toughest things I ever had to do.

It is definitely not easy, but you sound like it is something that you’ve conquered. Good for you. I still have moments.
Thanks too for following me!

So true! I think we are all the same in this area. In the little bit of public speaking I have done, I say a quick little prayer to ask God’s Holy Spirit to be with me….then take a deep breath….then do the best I can. I believe if we are speaking in truth, God will guide us all the way!!!
