As I sit watching the celebration of masked crowds in the streets celebrating the winning election of President-Elect Joe Biden outside the White House and cities across the nation, it just reminded me of this scripture:
When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn. – Proverbs 29:2
My aunt’s response to the outcome of the election was “Brand New Day” from the movie, The Wiz after the Wicked Witch of the West was dead. This perfectly reflects the elation in the streets.
This was a tough, hard fought election. The turnout was astronomical. More people have voted in this election than ever before. Why? Some see it as a repudiation of President Trump, but I believe that it is probably more of his antics and corrosive behavior, than his policies that are being repudiated. I’m pretty sure that people are just wanting to return to some sense of normalcy, decency and conduct befitting the highest office holder of the land. I certainly yearned for it.
My prayer is that God will use President-Elect Joseph Biden for the good and healing of this nation, a healing that will cause our hearts to return to God and follow his way. I pray that President-Elect Biden humbly take this mantle and look to God for wisdom in how to lead this nation forward. Isn’t that what we all want?
Congratulations, President-Elect Joseph Biden and Vice-President Kamala Harris!
May God bless America.
It is a great day for America. And I like the rest if world and happy to know America returns to decency, wholeness and truthfulness. I am sure Joe Biden will remain humble and good, she has been in politics and the Senate for so long. We the rest of the world are also happy for America.

Yes, his speech was very unifying, so I am praying God will give him wisdom on how to unite this country because we are so divided.

That is a great prayer. It seemed to be reflected in President-elect Biden’s first speech.
