About Barbara Fisher

Hello there. My name is Barbara Fisher and I am a new on the blogosphere. I have thought about doing this for sometime as I can be very opinionated about things and sometimes too much for Facebook. I am a married and the mother of two adult children, and the grandmother of seven. I am a Christian and have recently just moved my membership to a Reformed Baptist Church. I retired December 2012, and that has afforded me this opportunity to not overwhelm Facebook with my thoughts. I hope you find my blog – thought provoking, engaging, and interesting. Please let me know what you think. This is one venue where your feedback is the juice craved to keep going and going.

The Greatest Invitation

The greatest invitation ever is one that is extended to everyone who would receive it. This invitation offers us rest. Aren’t you tired of the rat race? Aren’t you tired of feeling as if you never measure up? Well, we won’t ever measure up, but there is one who can make us measure up, make us whole again; one who can make us new.

With him, we get a new life, a life that will transcend this life. His invitation:

“Come to to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gently and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30 ESV

How about it? The invitation is from Jesus Christ himself, who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one will enter this rest but through him. John 14:6
