I am not certain what will happen, but I believe we may have just poked the bear. Do I believe Iran can overcome the United States and Israel? Well, given that we’ve been told that the US and Israel have decimated their naval and air capacity, one would think not, but I don’t know because I am not certain God is really in the equation.
I do know that there are righteous wars. But is this one? Yes, Iran has done much evil, including to their own citizens, but dare I say, which country stands in complete innocence?
For me, this just does not feel right. I pray that God will cause us to recognize that we must always seek his counsel without our preconceived ideas or ideology. I say this because our biases can color how we view things and create a shadow over our blind spots.
We have believers who believe that this is a righteous cause, but are we going about it in a righteous way? There are other believers who do not support the idea that this war is righteous. I am one.
These are just my thoughts today, and I am reminded of what I read yesterday.
15 The nations have sunk in the pit that they made;
in the net that they hid, their own foot has been caught.
16 The Lord has made himself known; he has executed judgment;
the wicked are snared in the work of their own hands. Higgaion.[d] Selah17 The wicked shall return to Sheol,
all the nations that forget God.18 For the needy shall not always be forgotten,
and the hope of the poor shall not perish forever.19 Arise, O Lord! Let not man prevail;
let the nations be judged before you!
20 Put them in fear, O Lord!
Let the nations know that they are but men! Psalm 9:15-20 ESV
Please, Lord, let us all know that we are but men, and that you, the Righteous One, is sovereign over all!
