About Barbara Fisher

Hello there. My name is Barbara Fisher and I am a new on the blogosphere. I have thought about doing this for sometime as I can be very opinionated about things and sometimes too much for Facebook. I am a married and the mother of two adult children, and the grandmother of seven. I am a Christian and have recently just moved my membership to a Reformed Baptist Church. I retired December 2012, and that has afforded me this opportunity to not overwhelm Facebook with my thoughts. I hope you find my blog – thought provoking, engaging, and interesting. Please let me know what you think. This is one venue where your feedback is the juice craved to keep going and going.

FSA: Family Service Announcement

Calendar showing Thanksgiving

The black circled day on the 23rd is a Thursday.  In America, we celebrate it as Thanksgiving. Some people will try to tell you that it’s a Friday.  They may try to entice you with sales, sales and more sales for Black Friday beginning on Thursday, but Thursday is not Friday, and therefore, cannot be Black Friday. They may call it Black Friday, but it is not.

Thanksgiving is a time for family, for recognizing the things for which we are grateful, including family. Yes, it also includes our favorite Thanksgiving meals, be it turkey, gravy, cornbread dressing, collard greens, yams and pies and cake (our favorite). This is our family time, and on this day, we may play games, watch football games, and laugh a lot about our lives as a family.

Black Friday has it day. It begins on Friday.

Let’s value our family time. The sales will be there.

Happy Thanksgiving! Enjoy!

This concludes our FSA.
