About Barbara Fisher

Hello there. My name is Barbara Fisher and I am a new on the blogosphere. I have thought about doing this for sometime as I can be very opinionated about things and sometimes too much for Facebook. I am a married and the mother of two adult children, and the grandmother of seven. I am a Christian and have recently just moved my membership to a Reformed Baptist Church. I retired December 2012, and that has afforded me this opportunity to not overwhelm Facebook with my thoughts. I hope you find my blog – thought provoking, engaging, and interesting. Please let me know what you think. This is one venue where your feedback is the juice craved to keep going and going.

Congratulations, President-Elect, Joseph R. Biden!

As I sit watching the celebration of masked crowds in the streets celebrating the winning election of President-Elect Joe Biden outside the White House and cities across the nation, it just reminded me of this scripture:

When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn. – Proverbs 29:2

My aunt’s response to the outcome of the election was “Brand New Day” from the movie, The Wiz after the Wicked Witch of the West was dead. This perfectly reflects the elation in the streets.

This was a tough, hard fought election. The turnout was astronomical. More people have voted in this election than ever before. Why? Some see it as a repudiation of President Trump, but I believe that it is probably more of his antics and corrosive behavior, than his policies that are being repudiated. I’m pretty sure that people are just wanting to return to some sense of normalcy, decency and conduct befitting the highest office holder of the land. I certainly yearned for it.

My prayer is that God will use President-Elect Joseph Biden for the good and healing of this nation, a healing that will cause our hearts to return to God and follow his way. I pray that President-Elect Biden humbly take this mantle and look to God for wisdom in how to lead this nation forward. Isn’t that what we all want?

Congratulations, President-Elect Joseph Biden and Vice-President Kamala Harris!

May God bless America.
