About Barbara Fisher

Hello there. My name is Barbara Fisher and I am a new on the blogosphere. I have thought about doing this for sometime as I can be very opinionated about things and sometimes too much for Facebook. I am a married and the mother of two adult children, and the grandmother of seven. I am a Christian and have recently just moved my membership to a Reformed Baptist Church. I retired December 2012, and that has afforded me this opportunity to not overwhelm Facebook with my thoughts. I hope you find my blog – thought provoking, engaging, and interesting. Please let me know what you think. This is one venue where your feedback is the juice craved to keep going and going.

Loved These Easter Gospel Choir Songs

It used to be that before Easter, as a music leader, I would be on a search for songs to be sung for Easter.

I started reminiscing of songs that we have sung through the years. This Easter, I decided to post links to choir songs that I have loved through the years.

The oldest one I remember is from the 70s, Henry Jackson’s He Didn’t Have To Do It. My list includes another Henry Jackson song, Only Jesus, Him Alone, recorded here by the Voices of Christ with Helen Stephens.

He Decided To Die, Donald Vails, My Soul Loves Jesus

He Lives with Beverly Crawford, recorded on Bishop Carlton Pearson’s The Best of Azusa

For God So Loved the World, Vanessa Bell Armstrong

It Wasn’t The Nails, Mississippi Mass Choir featuring Milton Biggham

Nobody But Jesus, Vanessa Bell Armstrong.

Celebrate the King, Ricky Dillard and New G.

Calvary, Richard Smallwood & Vision

His Blood Still Works, Vashawn Mitchell, Triumphant

No Greater Love, GMWA Mass Choir

These are just a few, but I think my favorite is Matthew 28 by Donald Lawrence and the Tri-City Singers.
